Who is paying for the fuel?
That’s right.
Us.
I wish you were doing it on a Sunday I unfortunately work on Saturdays. Although I am a senior so will I still get a free pass as I do ride the bus and ferries for fre! I hope this will include the new ferries? Looking forward to riding one real soon maybe when my son is here next week!
Thank you

This Government loves giving away free stuff that we really pay for. Boats, fast boats with multi engines, burn up ALOT of fuel. The very rough calculation for diesels is 5% of rated HP in gallons per hour.
No specs on these boats have been published, however it is safe to assume that the hp rating exceeds 1500hp. That would be 75 gallons per hour at speed. About $750 per hour, just for fuel. Factor in all of the other expenses and that figure can very easily be doubled.
Someone more knowledgeable than me on things marine may come up with a more accurate figure. B.O.A.T.: Break Out Another Thousand.
What I would like to know is why all the fast ferries have to use engine power to dock, do they not tie them off? Seems the jet drives are ued to keep the bow against the dock, imagine how much fuel that wastes per year.
