Pacific Life Re Supports Endeavour Programme
Pacific Life Re has announced its support for Endeavour, a Bermuda charity that empowers youth through hands-on STEAM education integrated with sailing.
A spokesperson said, “Pacific Life Re is proud to announce its support of Endeavour, a Bermuda-registered charity dedicated to building self-confidence and life skills in young people through experiential learning that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and math [STEAM] education with sailing.
“By supporting Endeavour, Pacific Life Re will help provide hands-on learning opportunities that foster critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills both on and off the water.
“Now in its eleventh year, Endeavour’s STEAM Education through Sailing Programme engages every 11- to 12-year-old student across Bermuda, fostering confidence, curiosity, and environmental awareness. By partnering with schools throughout the island, Endeavour ensures that every student has the opportunity to participate.
“Students and teachers from the following schools took part during the 2024-2025 school year:
- Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning
- Bermuda Homeschool Network
- Bermuda Institute
- Dellwood Middle School
- Francis Patton School
- Mount Saint Agnes
- Purvis Primary
- Saltus Grammar School
- Sandys Secondary Middle School
- Somersfield Academy
- The Bermuda High School
- Warwick Academy
- Whitney Institute Middle School
“In the 2025-2026 school year, students from Elliot Primary, Harrington Sound Primary and Chatmore British International School will also participate.
“Over five days, students learn about different STEAM topics applicable to sailing during the programme, including:
- Sailing Geometry & Evolution of the Rig
- Buoyancy
- Wind Power & Wind Measurement
- Mechanical Advantage
- Marine Debris & Its Impact on the Environment
“Each week concludes with an interactive scavenger hunt at the National Museum of Bermuda, where students learn more about Bermuda’s rich maritime heritage.”
