The Department of Planning reminds the public that its survey on the use of alternative construction materials and techniques in Bermuda is still open.

A Government spokesperson said, “As these methods become more common, the Department is seeking community feedback to help assess their long-term impact on the island’s visual character and to guide future policy decisions.

“The survey is available on the Department of Planning’s website at www.planning.gov.bm and on its official Facebook page. Members of the public are encouraged to share their views before the survey closes on 5 December 2025.

“For further information or assistance accessing the survey link, please contact the Department at 297-7756.”

A link to the survey would be nice. Went on the Government website/Planning and could not find it. I am sure that it is buried in there somewhere.

You say that as if the PLP Government actually wants public input. You have to ask for the link.

One would think that if Government was truly interested in public input that somebody in the Planning Dept would make sure that the link is provided in any publication about it. But no, that does not happen. Not somebody’s jawb I suppose.

          Yes. One would think.

this is so dumb, why wouldn’t they just post the link. Why do ppl need to call to get a link.

  3. Triangle Drifter says:

Ah Ha! Found it. OMG, such a controversial subject and only 60 something responses. That is one very poor showing on the part of the public though it is understandable.

The Government has earned itself a reputation for seeking public input, then doing absolutely nothing with it. Why bother giving an opinion?

  4. Karen says:

Because asking the public is a political strategy to make you think they care about your opinion :)
