Mason Smith Shines At Junior Squash Open
Mason Smith impressed at the United States Junior Open Squash Championship in Philadelphia.
Competing in the Boys’ Under-12 Division, Smith’s tournament began with a five-set encounter against Canada’s Cayton Zichen Liu.
He lost the first two games 11-5, 11-6 before winning 11-9, 11-4; however, he lost the final game 11-9.
In the consolation round, Smith beat Raghav Swaminathan, of the United States, 11-8, 6-11, 11-5, and 11-9.
Smith secured a place in the round of 16 with a flawless display against Canada’s George Qureshi, winning 11-7, 11-8, 11-7.
