Clesia Pachai Bermuda Dec 1 2025The Bermuda Zoological Society [BZS] announced the appointment of Clesia Pachai as its new Fund Development Officer, bringing extensive experience in corporate social responsibility, community investment and sustainability to the organisation’s leadership team.

A spokesperson said, “Ms Pachai joins BZS with a distinguished background in guiding corporate charitable initiatives, ESG compliance and integrating sustainability into broader business strategies. Her work has consistently emphasised environmental stewardship, an approach that aligns closely with BZS’s mission to support conservation, research and education programmes that protect Bermuda’s unique environment.”

“It is an honour to step into this role,” said Ms Pachai. “My background in sustainability and social responsibility has reinforced the importance of building meaningful, mutually beneficial collaborations that create lasting impact. Environmental stewardship is at the heart of my work, shaping how I approach partnerships and programmes to deliver both community value and ecological benefit.”

A spokesperson added, “Ms Pachai also had the privilege of collaborating with the late Lynda Johnson, who served BZS as Fund Development Officer with distinction for many years. She noted that Lynda’s dedication and passion for conservation continue to be a source of inspiration in her work.

“As the organisation welcomes Ms Pachai into this key role, it also highlights the importance of community support — especially on Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity. Contributions from donors directly advance BZS’s mission to inspire appreciation and care of island environments, enabling programmes that protect Bermuda’s natural heritage and empower future generations of environmental stewards.

“Over the past few months, Ms Pachai has begun reaching out and meeting with BZS donors, partners and community stakeholders to formally introduce herself and explore opportunities to strengthen and grow support for BZS’s mission.”

“It has been a pleasure to recently connect with our organisation’s key stakeholders, partners and donors, whose generosity and support make our work and impact possible. I continue, on a daily basis, to also be inspired by the passion and devotion of my BZS colleagues in their mission to engage, educate and inspire Bermuda’s next generation of conservation stewards and I am honoured to be a part of the team.”

Philippe Bacon, BZS Board President said: “We are pleased to welcome Clesia as the new Fund Development Officer for the Bermuda Zoological Society. Her professional background and values are well aligned with our commitment to protecting Bermuda’s natural heritage and engaging our community through education and conservation.
