Scott Barnes Reflects On Karting Campaign
Karting driver Scott Barnes has reflected on a successful year that included a series victory and a major career milestone.
Barnes competed in nine international race weekends, claiming eight finals wins and seven podium finishes.
He also achieved a long-standing ambition by winning the King of the Streets final in the Shifter Masters class at the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix in the Quad Cities.
Another highlight for the experienced driver, who races for Maranello Karts USA, was securing his fourth successive SKUSA Winter Tour Series title in the Shifter Masters.
“It’s been a good year for me,” Barnes told Bernews. “I had some wins, podiums, and kept my team happy.
“I also wanted to win the King of the Streets at Rock Island — that was a highlight of the year for me.
“I’ve won several classes since 2001 but never the King of the Streets. Ticking that off the bucket list was pretty big.
“I’d have taken that at the start of the year!”
Barnes is set to begin his 2026 campaign at the Rok Cup Florida Winter Tour next month in Orlando, Florida.
