The Bermuda striker won his side a penalty in the nineteenth minute when he was tripped in the area by Jack Simpson.
Jordan Clark converted the spot kick to make it 2-0.
Wells then flicked on a cross for Shayden Morris to tap home in the 37th minute to make it 3-0.
Luton are eighth in the table.
