Elijah Daley Helps Toronto Win Over McGill
Bermudian swimmer Elijah Daley recorded multiple second-place finishes as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s swimming team defeated the McGill Redbirds 80.2–62.
Daley competed as the third swimmer for the Toronto [A] squad in the men’s 200 SC meter freestyle relay. The team finished the event with a total time of 1:34.34.
In the men’s 50 SC meter butterfly, Daley placed second with a time of 24.93. He also finished second in the 100 SC meter individual medley, touching the wall in 57.02.
Daley completed the 200 SC meter butterfly in 2:00.82 to finish in second place. Both the winner of the race and Daley recorded times faster than the previous U Sports record for the event.
The University of Toronto secured the dual meet victory by a 18.2-point margin over the visiting McGill program.
