The Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority [BCAA] is informing the public that a temporary no-fly zone will be in effect on Sunday [Dec 7] to accommodate the Marketplace parade and fireworks and drone display.

This restriction is necessary while preparations and the execution of the drone show and fireworks display are underway. The no-fly zone applies to unmanned aircraft [drones], local VFR traffic including helicopters, as well as kites, balloons, microlight aircraft, airships, and gliders, and all operators are advised to avoid the area during the specified hours.

A spokesperson previously said, “The spokesperson said, “Families can look forward to the full Christmas experience, including performances by the Royal Bermuda Regiment Band, Gombey troupes, dance and majorette groups, and local community organisations such as the Bermuda Police Service and Bermuda Fire Service. The MarketPlace will showcase its character floats and live performers, and Santa Claus will make his traditional appearance to close the parade.

“Following the parade, attendees are invited to stay for the Night Sky Celebration, a coordinated drone and fireworks display over Hamilton Harbour.”
