MP Tucker: ‘Response Is Piecemeal & Reactive’
“After speaking publicly to the feral chicken issue for approximately three years, I was glad to hear in the House that the government is taking steps to address it. However, its response is piecemeal and reactive,” OBA MP Robin Tucker said.
Ms Tucker added, “The Government’s plan to sell traps at $100 each and launch an app for residents to report feral chickens is a step, but is half‑measure that shifts responsibility onto residents instead of delivering a coordinated national response.
“While there is some positive movement, the government continues to band-aid this longstanding issue leaving farmers and communities continuing to fend for themselves, and with no disincentive for residents who encourage the sustainability of the feral chicken population.”

Give it a chance. Surely as an Opposition Senator you have your own agenda to pursue for the people. This issue is chicken feed they neglected and are now trying to catch up. Let’s hear your issues on the most critical issues facing Bermudians.
“Let’s hear your issues on the most critical issues facing Bermudians.”
It is doubtful that anyone can offer meaningful comment on Bermuda’s debt situation. We are not allowed to know to true scale of our debt (both current debt and unfunded liabilities).
Whilst absolutely correct, this is a completely toothless statement.
We’d all rather you provide some more sound argument for what should be done instead of telling us what we already know.
What would MP Tucker suggest would rid us of this challenge?
Mr. Tucker
The first 100 days are over i can hardly believe you are showing grave concern for presence of chickens .
i and we are more than aware of the information we all have a cross to bear.
however chicken seems to appear somehow back near the top of the political list .
Could you not find some more adventurous to occupy your time as you put your best foot forward.
