Free Health Screening Event Set For Paget
Bermuda Is Love, in partnership with Ocean Rock Wellness, will host a Free Health Screening for the community on Saturday, January 31st, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
A spokesperson said, “The event will take place at Ocean Rock Wellness, located on the 2nd Floor of Charities House, 25 Point Finger Road, Paget.
“The free screening will feature a professional body composition assessment using the InBody body composition analyzer, followed by a brief consultation to review results and provide individualized health recommendations. The event is open to the public, and no medical insurance is required to participate.
“Unlike traditional scales that only measure body weight, the InBody body composition analysis provides detailed metabolic biomarkers that offer a deeper understanding of an individual’s overall health. These insights help identify potential health risks by analyzing muscle mass, body fat percentage and distribution, and bone mineral content.
“Key health indicators reviewed during the screening include:
“Muscle Mass: Tracking muscle mass is essential for maintaining functional mobility and strength, particularly as individuals age or pursue weight loss. Low muscle mass is associated with increased fracture risk during falls and accidents. The assessment also identifies muscle imbalances, allowing practitioners to provide guidance on exercise, physiotherapy, and nutrition strategies tailored to individual lifestyles.
“Percent Body Fat and Fat Distribution: The analysis measures overall body fat percentage and examines where fat is distributed in the body. Excess body fat can impact joint health, mobility, and increase the risk of chronic conditions. Certain patterns of fat distribution, such as abdominal fat, may also be influenced by hormonal factors. These findings allow for targeted recommendations related to nutrition, physical activity, and stress management.
“Bone Mineral Content: Bone mineral levels are closely linked to muscle mass and are critical for bone health, especially in aging populations and postmenopausal women. Monitoring mineral content helps identify potential deficiencies and supports strategies focused on improving bone density through appropriate nutrition and exercise.
“The InBody scan takes only a few minutes to complete and is typically covered by major medical insurance providers; however, insurance coverage is not required for this free community event.
