Minister Darrell’s Trip To Miami Cost $1,274.37
A trip in December 2025 by Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport Owen Darrell to Miami cost $1,274.37, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.
The trip duration was listed as from December 6, 2025 – December 8, 2025, and the web page listing said, “The Hon Owen K Darrell, JP MP, Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport attended a meeting of the Council of Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism, held in Miami, Florida. The Minister was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary, Shivon Washington.
“Minister Darrell’s presence was particularly required, as it included the formal presentation, invitation, and announcement that Bermuda will host the Caribbean Tourism Organization [CTO] Spring Meetings and Industry Forum from 22–25 February 2026. This launch marks a milestone, as it will be the first time Bermuda hosts a CTO event.”

The fact that the total cost was modest ($1,274.37) might have helped too.
I guess the question of modest would be was the total cost of the trip for just the minister or inclusive of his secretary ? Seems a bit light for 2 people .
