Govt Launch New ‘Savings Directory’ Online
The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched a Savings Directory on www.costofliving.gov.bm, a “public, one-stop hub for verified discounts and savings programmes across Bermuda.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Directory supports the Government’s cost of living relief agenda and brings together general retail discounts, membership benefits, and special pricing from local organisations and businesses.
“It includes a dedicated Seniors Savings section to help older Bermudians find age-specific offers in one place.”
Minister of Home Affairs Alexa Lightbourne said, “Every dollar matters. And more importantly, this is one way that our seniors can make their pensions go further. Relief must be practical. Relief must be easy to find. And this online tool puts clear, verified savings in one place so families can buy with confidence.”
The spokesperson said, “What’s live now:
- Offers focused on basic needs and everyday purchases.
- Clearly labeled categories and filters, including Seniors Savings.
- Links that take residents directly to participating organisation’s offer page or contact.
“The Ministry is also encouraging businesses to get involved.
“Businesses, organisations, and service providers offering discounts or savings programmes are invited to submit their listings. Email mailto:mhahq@gov.bm with:
- Name of company or organisation
- Description of the discount or savings opportunity
- Website or link to the offer [if available]
- Timeframe/validity period
- Any additional details or document[s] for public reference
“How to access, visit: www.costofliving.gov.bm and select Savings Directory.”

YAWN!
This is the best they can do?! LMFAO what a huge yikes…we’re in trouble for sure
It will be out of date as soon as something is posted.
In other news, what is the expected impact to revenue to Bermuda from CIT, with the latest ruling exempting US multinationals from the 15%?
“what is the expected impact to revenue to Bermuda from CIT”
My prediction remains the same. Nil.
Took a look at the listings offered by one retailer. Discounts are not very much and most of what is offered is not of interest at all. Dead stock being passed off as something special.
Want to generate some interest? Follow the loyalty deals that most every US big box supermarket chain offers. An across the board discount, including ‘special’ items and store brand products. Points on loyalty cards to be redeemed as discounts at gas stations.
Use some imagination.
Do you think that is viable in a community of 60,000 where everything has to be imported and there is limited competition?
