Bermuda Open Concacaf U-20 Qualifying Bid

Bermuda will begin their bid to reach the Concacaf Under-20 Championship today [February 24] as the region’s qualifying tournament gets under way across Central America and the Caribbean.

The qualifiers, which opened yesterday, feature 32 nations competing for six places at the Championship, the next stage of qualification for the Fifa Under-20 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Bermuda have been drawn in group E alongside hosts Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago – who they face today – Barbados and Sint Maarten, with matches scheduled to be played at the Complejo Deportivo FCRF-Plycem in San Rafael de Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The teams will compete in a round-robin format, with only the group winner advancing to the championship tournament later this year.

The six group winners will join pre-qualified nations United States, Mexico, Honduras, Panama, Cuba and Guatemala at the 12-team championship, scheduled for July 25 to August 9.
