Govt Issues RFP For Tulo Valley Greenhouse
The Government has issued Request for Proposals [RFP] to “design, build, and maintain a safe, functional, and sustainable greenhouse production facility at the Tulo Valley Plant Nursery.”
The document said, “This Request for Proposals follows a Request for Information, issued July 30th, 2025, which gathered greenhouse production facilities design information from the market.
“Tulo Valley Park and Government Plant Nursery is a 5.92-acre facility, which consists of greenhouses, slat houses, potting area, plant beds, and an office surrounded by a wooded hillside.
“Tulo Valley Nursery is within the remit of the Parks Department. Operations include support of the goals of the Bermuda Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. It produces plant material for the National Parks and Nature Reserves, bedding plants for Government facilities and specialized plants for the Botanical Gardens, Arboretum, and Woodlands. The facility also provides plant material for the Department of Planning’s Plant Voucher New Development programme and potential agricultural initiatives.
“The production greenhouses at Tulo Valley are now in poor condition, falling short of plant production and protection requirements. The steel-framed structure has extensive corrosion and section loss. Ventilation and irrigation systems are substandard and inadequate. Consequently, the Government is soliciting proposals from reputable design-builders.”
