Daniel Phillips Earns Win For Tulane
Bermudian Daniel Phillips recorded a comeback singles victory against a nationally ranked opponent, but Tulane men’s tennis fell 4-3 to No. 60 Rice at the Goldring Tennis Center.
Phillips and Lance Nisbet were defeated 7-5 by the No. 79-ranked Rice pair of Petro Kuzmenok and Santiago Navarro, as Rice claimed the doubles point.
Playing at No. 1 singles, Phillips defeated No. 49 Kuzmenok in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Rice secured the remaining points to clinch the match.
