FIFA World Cup Theme For ‘You Go Girl’ Race
The 15th annual Mosaic You Go Girl Relay will take place on Sunday, May 31, with this year’s theme inspired by the FIFA World Cup 2026.
A spokesperson said, “Registration is open for the 15th annual Mosaic You Go Girl Relay, happening Sunday, May 31 with a football focus. The FIFA World Cup, kicking off in June in Mexico City, is this year’s theme for the popular charity event.”
“There’s a special buzz around this year’s event, with the World Cup theme capturing the spirit of teamwork, ambition, and global connection that sport inspires,” said Lisa Fontanetta, COO of Mosaic Insurance. “We’re proud to support a race that channels that energy into something lasting—raising funds and expanding opportunities for women in Bermuda.”
A spokesperson added, “Since 2012, the women and girls’ event, organized by Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club [MAAC] and known for its participants’ creatively costumed turnout, has raised more than $150,000 for the island’s Women’s Resource Centre. Last year, attendees brought their Wicked powers to the relay course, celebrating the theme of the hit movie/musical—and generating close to $12,000 for the charity.”
“The Mosaic You Go Girl Relay continues to champion women and girls coming together in a spirit of strength, solidarity and fun,” said Christine De Silva, of MAAC’s race organizing committee. “With this year’s World Cup theme, we’re celebrating the global power of sport. We’re incredibly grateful for the support of Mosaic Insurance and our sponsors, and we encourage women and girls of all ages and abilities to join us to make a real difference in our community.”
A spokesperson added, “Mosaic joins MAAC and supporting sponsors U by Kotex, Powerade, and Butterfield & Vallis to present the event on Front Street, Hamilton.
“The relay invites teams of three women or girls to participate in its 2K-4K-6K three-lap structure, with prize categories including open, family, corporate, masters, junior, walking, and non-competitive teams—and the addition this year of a senior masters’ category for ages 60-plus. All three team members can also choose to run 6K together. Last year, younger girls’ races, for ages four to five and six to seven-year-olds, were introduced to the format.”
“We’re honoured to once again be the beneficiary of the Mosaic You Go Girl Relay—an event that brings women and girls together in a powerful expression of connection, strength, and community,” said Juanae Crockwell, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Centre. “Funds raised through this event directly support our work to advance the wellbeing, safety, and rights of women in Bermuda. From access to counselling and therapeutic support to advocacy and community education, this investment allows us to continue creating spaces where women feel supported and able to move forward.
“We are deeply grateful to the organisers, sponsors, and every participant who shows up each year—not just for the experience, but in support of something bigger. Your commitment makes a real and lasting difference in the lives of the women we serve.”
A spokesperson added, “Registration and number pickup for this year’s event happen Saturday, May 30, 10 am–noon, in the ground-floor lobby of Mosaic HQ: Seon Place, 141 Front Street, Hamilton, HM19.
