The Bermuda Under-20 men’s national team claimed a 3-3 draw against Costa Rica in their Concacaf Under-20 World Cup qualifier in Alajuela.

Costa Rica took the lead in the fourteenth minute. Bermuda had a chance to respond six minutes later but missed a penalty.

The visiting side levelled two minutes into the second half when Jace Donawa’s effort was parried by the Costa Rica goalkeeper, allowing Xahvi DeRoza to react quickest and fire home the rebound.

DeRoza put Bermuda ahead in the 60th minute, only for Costa Rica to restore parity in the 71st.

The lead swung again in the 77th minute when Donawa unleashed a powerful free kick from the edge of the area that beat the goalkeeper.

Costa Rica were awarded a penalty two minutes later, but Bermuda goalkeeper Daniel Powell produced a save before the rebound was forced over the line to make it 3-3.

Bermuda have now won one and drawn two of their three Group E matches.
