Scott Barnes On Success Of Showdown Event
Karting driver Scott Barnes has reflected on his performances at the “Showdown At Sundown” event at Southside Motorsports Raceway in St David’s at the weekend.
Barnes, who recently claimed the Shifter Masters title in the Rok Cup Florida Winter Tour, won the Shifter Masters class, finished runner-up in the Tag Senior, placed third in the KZ Shifter and came fourth in the the L0206 Masters.
He also won two of the four finals races.
“What a weekend,” Barnes wrote on social media. “First time the Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] has raced under the lights, and we put on a great show!
“Racing four of the five senior classes this weekend, we laid down over 200 laps in two days.”
The event marked the BKA’s first races held under lights.
“It was quite a challenge jumping for a TAG to 206 to Shifter back to back-to-back, but always up for a challenge,” Barnes added.
“After not racing in Bermuda all season it was fun to be back racing with the BKA family, and I can’t thank the people that made it possible enough!
“Well done to president Chris Smith and everyone who made this weekend possible. Great show for the Bermuda Karting Association.”
