Open Mat Athletes Competing In Florida
Brazilian jui-jitsu athletes from Open Mat Bermuda are competing at the IBJJF Pan Championship at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
A team of 14 are battling in a range of belt levels and weight classes, from white to black belt, and include both adult and masters divisions.
Among those competing are Ishaan Rangta in the white belt adult male light-featherweight division, Essantae Caines in white belt adult male heavyweight and Michael Walsh in white belt master 4 male middleweight.
In the blue belt divisions, Ryan Hopkins will compete in adult male middleweight, Jahmali Bridgewater in adult male heavyweight and Noah Vieira in adult male super-heavyweight. Keegan Dyer is entered in the adult female light-featherweight division.
Greg Maybury will compete in the blue belt master 1 male middleweight, while Ramazan Ramazanov is entered in the blue belt master 3 male medium-heavyweight.
At purple belt level, Reina Maypa will compete in the adult female light division, Sydney Mason in the adult female heavyweight and James Adams in the master 2 male super-heavyweight.
Lonnie Bascome will represent the team in the black belt master 3 male light division, with Chris Regan competing in the black belt master 4 male super-heavyweight.
