The Piranhas delivered a strong statement win over the Mambas while the Cobras secured the #1 seed in the upcoming BYB League playoffs with a convincing victory over the Bulldogs this past weekend.

A spokesperson said, “In BYB League action this past weekend, the Piranhas faced the Mambas in a pivotal matchup with playoff seeding on the line — and delivered a statement performance.

“From the opening tip, The Piranhas played with urgency and grit, moving the ball and making the extra pass to keep the defending BYB Champions off balance. With this season’s league leading scorer Ajani Carey [19.6 pts/per game] sidelined due to illness, the Mambas struggled to find their usual offensive rhythm.

“Braxton Cooze and Anson Robinson combined for 25 points and 19 rebounds, but it was not enough. The Piranhas controlled the boards, dictated the tempo, and imposed their will throughout to secure a crucial 42-35 win over the Mambas.

“Guards Jahlunde Wilson-Johnston and Emmanuel Madera Blanco led the Piranhas with 13 pts.

“The final game of the evening featured the first place Cobras at 10-2 taking on a Bulldogs squad looking to build momentum heading into the playoffs.

“The Bulldogs came out with the intention of being aggressive with early rim attacks, forcing the Cobras on the back foot. The league leaders answered behind an MVP-caliber performance from Max Kimberly, who dominated with 25 pts 19 rebounds, 5 assists. A force all season, Max controlled the glass and punished defenders with his touch around the rim.

“The Cobras size and consistency eventually took over as they powered past the Bulldogs for a commanding 73 – 59 victory, officially securing the #1 seed in the upcoming BYB League playoffs.

“Jordon Marsh led the Bulldogs with 31 pts
