Phillips Leads Tulane To Victory Over UAB

Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips led the Tulane University men’s tennis team to a 4-3 victory over the University of Alabama at Birmingham [UAB], securing critical points in both doubles and singles play.

The Green Wave opened the match by claiming the doubles point, anchored by Phillips and partner Lance Nisbet. The duo defeated UAB’s Kaustubh Holcomb and Ondrej Valek 6-3 in the No. 1 position.

In singles action, Phillips faced Valek again in the top-seeded slot. Phillips held a 2-1 lead in the first set before Valek was forced to withdraw due to injury. The retirement was recorded as a straight-set victory for Phillips, contributing a second point to Tulane’s team total.
