Writ Issued For Municipal Elections
The Parliamentary Registry advises that the Writ of Election has been issued for the Ordinary Municipal Elections for the Corporation of Hamilton and the Corporation of St. George.
A spokesperson said, “The Parliamentary Registry advises that the Writ of Election has been issued for the Ordinary Municipal Elections for the Corporation of Hamilton and the Corporation of St. George.
“In accordance with the Parliamentary Election Act 1978, a seven [7] day registration period is now open for eligible business ratepayers and residents within the municipal areas to ensure their details are current and that they are properly registered to participate in the upcoming elections.
“The registration period will close on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. All applications and updates must be completed by the end of this period.
“Eligible persons are strongly encouraged to review their registration details as soon as possible by visiting the Parliamentary Registry’s website at https://elections.gov.bm/.
“Please note that applications for registration or updates are not available online and must be completed in person at the Parliamentary Registry.
“Nomination Day has been appointed for Wednesday, 23 April 2026. Advanced Polling will take place on Wednesday, 30 April 2026, and Polling Day has been set for Wednesday, 7 May 2026.
“The Parliamentary Registry remains committed to ensuring that all eligible voters are afforded the opportunity to participate in the electoral process and encourages timely action to avoid any inconvenience.
