A homegoing service for Josephine [Josie] Evelina Matthew, long serving employee of Sonesta Beach Hotel, beloved wife of Melvin Matthew, Sr., beloved daughter of the late Joseph Natta and the late Martha Natta [St. Kitts], of “Gayrich Cottage”, #11 Fairhaven Lane, Sandys SB 01will be held on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Beulah Tabernacle Church UHC, #4 Beulah Lane [Scotts Hill Road], Sandys. The interment will follow at the Somerset Methodist Church, Long Bay Lane, Sandys Parish.
There will be no viewing.
Josie is fondly remembered by her sons Joseph and Melvin Jr. [Usha] and daughters Mavis and Josette Matthew.
She leaves to cherish her life and memory: Special family: The Douglas Family, Charley Family [USA]. Special friends: the late Bishop Russell C. Furbert, Bishop Stephen Jones, Bishop Calvin Armstrong, Reverend Rudolph Ebbin, Dennis Tucker, Sonesta Beach Hotel Family, Beulah Tabernacle Family, Fairhaven Lane Family, Anita “Shum Shum” Basden, Marcus Jones, Sophia Jones, Asquith Phillips and Family, Furbert/Rayner Family, Cordell Riley and Family, Estelle Knights, Charmaine Gift, Gene Hypolite, Frances Wedderburn, Marjorie Wharton [St. Kitts], Sylvia Gurley [Canada], the late Annette Lynch and Family, the late Sylvia Symons, the late Lucille Wilson, the late Maude Davis, the late Dianne Simmons. Many other special family and friends too numerous to mention. Josie was predeceased by father-in-law Charles Gaiton, mother-in-law Eliza Matthew; brother, Oliver Natta [UK], brothers-in-law: Leroy [Mary] Matthew [USA], Wilfred Matthew; Cousin Roseann Natta [St. Kitts] and family cat, Pepper.
