The family of Shirley Ann Paynter [nee Simmons] are sad to announce her passing. She was the loving wife of the late John Neville Percy Paynter, in her 85th year, of Junction Lane, Devonshire. She was also the devoted daughter of the late Kenneth Sr. and Ivy Simmons; sister of Harriett Woods [late Donald], Gloria Frederick [Rawle], Eloise Tuzo [Kenny], Marilyn Barstowe [late Charles – Bingo], Joycelyn Lawrence [Fred]; brother-in-Law Millett Paynter [Carol], god-children Marionette Simmons, Jason Sukdeo, special cousin Joy Simmons, special nieces Vernette Sukdeo and Tamara Sukdeo, very special friends Margaret Burgess and Edith Swainson.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 12:00 at Christ Anglican Church, Devonshire. Internment at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Pembroke following the service. A viewing will take place at Old Christ Church, Devonshire on Thursday, June 6, from 11:00 – 11:55. She was predeceased by siblings Louise Francis [late Peter], Kay Seaman [Roderick], Kenneth Simmons Jr., and brother-in-law Ronnie Paynter, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
