Photos, Video & Full Results: RMS Road Race

Scroll down for full results, a quick video and a few photos of the RMS Construction Race which was held this morning [April 25]. Runners had the option to run either a 10km or 20km distance.

10KM

• Male: Race favourite Christopher Estwanik won, with Chris Harris on 2nd.
• Female: First female was Ashley Estwanik who placed 2nd overall, 1st female [40-49] was Rebecca Kuruvilla with Heather Brain the first female in 50-59 category.
• Juniors: Made a very strong showing with 16 year old Shawn Herman the first junior in, closely followed by 17 yr old Ryan Gunn. The teens finished 4th and 5th overall respectively.
• Male Masters: 60 yr old Clinton Curtis was the first senior master in, and perennial favourite George Jones was the second senior master, still running strong at age 72.

20KM

• Men: Tony Banks won, with Stephen Allen in 2nd.
• Female: Vivienne Lochhead was the first female in, Deborah Blaxell first in the 40-49 category, Lynn Norman first in 50-59, and veteran runner Peggy Couper, the mother of female 10k winner Ashley Estwanik, came in first in the over 60′s.
• Juniors: The only junior to go the 20km distance, 14 year old Marcus Smith made a great showing.
• Men’s Masters: 63 yr old Terry Wine was the first senior master in. Well known runner Giorgio Zanol was the oldest in the field at age 69.
