Expert: Defendant’s DNA Found At Scene
Today [June 1] an expert witness testified that the DNA of a man accused of murder was found on a baseball cap at the crime scene.
32-year-old David Jahwell Cox of Club Road, Smiths is charged with premeditated murder and using a firearm to commit an indictable offence. He denies the charges.
On August 9th 2010, 47-year-old Raymond Troy “Yankee” Rawlins was gunned down in the entrance of Spinning Wheel nightclub on Court Street. Last week the court heard that Mr Rawlins was shot 16 times and viewed the CCTV footage of the shooting.
Expert witness Candy Zuleger told the ten man two woman jury that Mr Cox’s DNA was on a baseball cap found outside the Court Street crime scene, as well as on a latex glove found in a trash can by where the getaway car was found in the Glebe Road area.

OMG – welcome to the 1970′s Bermuda – this is the first time I’m hearing of DNA use in the Bermuda courts.

@OMG – DNA has been used in Bermuda several times before in criminal cases. It has been used in Bermuda since the early 2000s or late 90s. You must be living in a cave or something.
