Commuters Urged To Use Ferries During Strike
Marine and Ports Services Department confirmed that all its commuter routes today [Aug.18] are operating as normal, and that throughout today, there was an additional unscheduled supplementary service operating between Hamilton and Dockyard to meet demands of visitors and residents.
Department of Marine and Ports Services is advising people who normally commute via the bus, to consider taking the ferry for the duration of the current bus operators strike.

Recognising that the current bus strike has inconvenienced thousands of residents and visitors today, the Department of Marine and Ports Services issued the following update regarding its ferry service.
Today the Marine and Ports Services Department confirmed that all its commuter routes were operating as per normal and this evening’s commuter service is also expected to run according to schedule.
As an additional note, Marine and Ports advised that the 5.00 p.m. ferry to St. Georges will now depart at 5.20 p.m. today to meet demands of East End commuters.
Marine and Ports also confirmed that throughout today, there was an additional unscheduled supplementary service operating between Hamilton and Dockyard to meet demands of visitors and residents as they arose.
And if buses continue their industrial action tomorrow morning (Friday August 19), Marine and Ports officials confirmed that they will provide a 7.45 a.m. ferry departing from St. George’s to assist East End commuters.
Meanwhile, the Department of Marine and Ports Services is advising those members of the public who would normally commute via the bus, to consider taking the ferry to assist in their transportation needs for the duration of the current bus operators strike.

Heyyyyy i was offering a ride and i stop at the bus terminal in town, and one guy very rude push me out of there!!!!! becuase was only for buses!!!, I told him there wasnt buses! and the guy call the police to pass me a ticket!!!!!! at the moment I dont know if i got a ticket, i will know maybe tomorrow!!!!! BUT WHAT THEW HELL!!!! I TRY TO HELP AND THEY DONT WANTS US TO STOP THERE! WHERE THE PUBLIC WAS LOOKING FOR A RIDE!!!
