Squash: Bermuda Men’s Team Lose To Cayman
The Bermuda Men’s Squash Team began team play in Cayman on Day One of the Caribbean Team Squash Championships.
The Bermuda Team of Micah Franklin [pictured], Noah Browne, Chris Stout, Anthony Fellowes & Spencer Moss all saw action against the Cayman’s Men’s team going down 5 – 0.
Sixth seeded Cayman were overjoyed as they defeated a third ranked Bermuda team, who admittedly have a weaker side this year.
“We all played pretty well actually,” said Bermuda number one Franklin, “but they’re a very strong team.”
Moss went down to Myron Blair in straight sets 11-7, 11-5, 11-7, while Fellows was defeated by Jake Kelly in a five setter. Kelly won the first two sets 11-3, 11-9, then Fellows won the next two sets 11-8, 11-6, but then Kelly won the fifth and final set 11-8.
Franklin went down in straight sets to Cameron Stafford 11-4, 11-6, 11-8, Stout was defeated in four sets by Gabe Rabess, Rabess won the first set 11-9, but Stout drew level winning the second set 11-8, then Rabess won the third and fourth set 12-10, 11-4, while Browne went down in straight sets to Dean Watson 12-10, 11-9, 11-8.
