50 Riders Complete Mountain Bike Race
Race 5 of the Bicycle Works Mountain Bike Race was held today [Feb 17] at the National Museum of Bermuda. The 50 riders were challenged not only by the course, but by severe weather conditions, with gusts of 50 plus knots hammering the participants as they made their way around the 1.25 mile course.
The course offered riders a rare look at some of Bermuda’s most historic buildings, with the participants riding down the center of the old Casemates prison.
In the Male ‘A’ Class, Dominique Mahyo took line honors, with Neil de St. Croix in second, followed by Macio Talbot.In the Male ‘B’ Class, Daniel Oatley finished first, followed by Andrew Hern in second and Paul Lindo in third.
In the Novice Male Class, Paul Tetly was the top finisher, with Craig Ferguson placing second and Travis Burland third. In the 13-16 Male Class, Matthew Oliveira finished first, followed by Christian Oatley in second and Alex Bordage in third.
In the 13-16 Female Class, Alyssa Rouse took class honors, with Tristian Narraway in second and Jessie Godfrey in third. In the Under 13 Male Class, Nahje Smith finished first, followed by Alexander Miller in second and Kaleb Maderios in third. In the Under 13 Female Class, Brazil Furbert took class honors.
