Charlotte Millington Eleventh In Uruguay
Bermuda cyclist Charlotte Millington produced an impressive display in the junior women’s individual time-trial at the Pan American Road Championships in Punta del Este, Uruguay, today [April 23].
Millington finished eleventh, completing the 13.1-kilometres course in 21min 25.38sec along the scenic Rambla Lorenzo Batlle Pacheco.
“Congratulations to Charlotte on a strong performance in her debut Pan American Road Championships!” the Bermuda Bicycle Association posted on social media.
“Racing in the junior women’s individual time-trial against the largest and most competitive field in the history of this category at Pan Ams, Charlotte held her own. Congratulations to all the young women!
“This is Charlotte’s first Pan Am appearance, competing in the 17–18 age group, and she lined up against some of the continent’s top juniors – including reigning champions and international medallists from Colombia, Chile, and beyond.
“A fantastic milestone and experience for Charlotte as she proudly flies the Bermuda flag on the international stage!”
Millington will compete in the road race on Friday.
Kaden Hopkins and Nicholas Narraway are also representing Bermuda at the championships in the elite men’s individual time-trial tomorrow and road race on Sunday.
