Festival Nomination For Bermudian’s Web Series
A Bermudian actor, performance poet and recent graduate of Atlanta Technical College has added another feather to her artistic cap.
Tamicka [Tee Jay] Johnson directed and co-produced seven of ten episode of the “Studville TV” web series written by Ron Fox.
“Studville TV” is one of four series to be nominated by Detroit’s Hotter Than July 2013 Film Festival for “Best Black Lesbian Series”.
Detroit’s Hotter Than July is the Midwest’s oldest black Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgendered [LGBT] film festival, now in its eighteenth year.
Ms Johnson is currently writing and producing her new series “Refracted Reflections” which will start early summer 2013 on the Refracted Reflections channel, and, pending for fall 2013, an all-Bermudian production “Broken Mirrors”.
At this time she is actively seeking producers and/or sponsors for her Bermuda series.
All episodes of the nominated “Studville TV” can still be viewed on YouTube on the “Studville TV” channel.
Ms Johnson said she wanted to thank all of her supporters both in Bermuda and abroad, particularly those who submitted original musical works for use in the “Studville TV” series.
Despite suffering from debilitating anemia, in 2012 Ms Johnson enjoyed a successful US directorial debut with “Lying in Bed”, a play that opened in Atlanta in February of that year to rave reviews.
