Richard Allen AME To Honor Rev. Dr. Simmons
The Richard Allen AME Church Congregation is planning a Retirement Fellowship & Dinner in honor of Rev. Dr. Conway Simmons on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
The event starts at 6.30pm at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel and tickets are $125 available from all 11 churches.
“Richard Allen’s plan is to embrace all churches that Rev. Simmons has pastored in Bermuda including St. John, Heard Chapel, Vernon Temple, St. Paul, and Richard Allen”, a spokesperson said.
“At 4.00pm today [Jan 26] the AME Church hosts their Founders Day Celebration at St. Paul AME Church with all the churches participating and is being hosted by the Board of Christian Education. The format will be A Celebration of Appreciation.
“This year the Board of Christian Education invite all to attend a service of celebration for Rev. Dr. Conway Milton Simmons our Senior, who has served the church for 49 years and will be retiring from Pastoral Ministry during the Bermuda Annual Conference, March 2014.
“Through the many challenges, Rev. Simmons has served our Zion with dignity and pride; let’s give him what is due.”
