New Short Course Swiming Records Confirmed
The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association have updated their Short Course Meter Records, following the Ontario Division 1 Team Championships, in Nepean, Ontario, Canada, the Quebec Cup 2 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and the Richmond Hill Winter Invitational, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
Elan Daley broke five records while competing in the 8 and Under Girls Ontario Division 1 Team Championships in Nepean, Ontario, Canada
Daley set a new 50m Freestyle record touching the wall in a time of 34.93, on December 13th, 2013, breaking Elizabeth Brewin’s record of 36.59 set on November 1st, 1998. Daley then set a new 100m Freestyle record with a time of 1:20.97, on December 15th, 2013, breaking Jessica Bruton’s record of 1:23.45 set on May 20th, 2012.
During the 200m Freestyle Daley touched the wall in a time of 3:02.15, on December 14th, 2013, breaking Bruton’s record of 3:06.72 set November 10th, 2012, during the 50m Butterfly Daley clocked a time of 38.14, on December 14th, 2013, breaking Emma Harvey’s record of 44.11 set on May 29th, 2010 and then Daley set a new 100m Individual Medley record clocking 1:34.88, on December 13th, 2013, breaking Bruton’s record of 1:38.68 set on July 14th, 2012
Vanessa Esposito broke two 15 and 16 Girls records taking part in the Quebec Cup 2 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Esposito competing in the 200m Freestyle clocked a time of 2:10.56, on January 17th, 2013, breaking Eleanor Gardner’s record of 2:10.68 set on June 24th, 2007, she then broke the 400m Freestyle record touching the wall in a time of 4:35.18, on January 18th, 2013, breaking another Gardner record of 4:40.43 set on June 23rd, 2007.
Elan and Elijah Daley both competed in the Richmond Hill Winter Invitational at Richmond Hill in Ontario, Canada.
Competing in the 8 and Under Girls 50m Freestyle, Elan Daley clocked a time of 34.40, on January 25th, 2014, breaking her own record of 34.93 set on December 13th, 2013, she set a new 100m Breaststroke, touching the wall in a time of 1:40.38, on January 26th, 2014, breaking Naomi Vides’ record of 1:43.85 set on August 15th, 2003 and then she set a new 200 Individual Medley record time of 3:25.85, on January 26th, 2014, breaking Jessica Bruton’s record of 3:31.50 set on December 1st, 2012
Elijah Daley competed in the 8 and Under Boys 100m Butterfly, clocking a time of 1:45.33, on January 26th, 2014, he established a record for the first time.
