Butterfield Finishes 8th, Richardson Places 4th
Bermuda’s Tyler Butterfield finished 8th at the ITU World Cup Triathlon in Mexico, crossing the line in a time of 2:03:26. The 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run event attracted some of the top male triathletes from around the world, with Butterfield’s top 10 finish earning him $900 prize money.
Argentina’s Luciano Taccone was handed a surprise win in the Huatulco world cup race on Sunday after France’s Aurelién Lescure collapsed 50m before the finish line and relinquished his lead, with Italy’s Davide Uccellari coming second.

Meanwhile, Bermuda’s Kent Richardson finished 4th in a strong field and a technical course in the Men’s 55 – 59 Age during the USAT Nationals/XTERRA East Championship.
Mr. Richardson covered the swim course in a time of 22:46, he then clocked 2:00:18 on the bike course and he finished off clocking 51:02 on the run Course.
After the race Mr. Richardson said, “It was a very good race for me was, I was holding onto 3rd place after the swim and halfway on the first of two laps on the bike when I was passed, then hung on to 4th.”
Richardson went on to say, “The bike handling and the lines you take on this course was so important, but overall I had a great day.”
