Marcus Scotland Selected: Surrey Cricket Squad

January 17, 2015

Marcus Scotland, the grandson of Bermuda cricketing great Rupert Scotland, was recently selected to join the Outer London U12 District of the Surrey County CC winter academy cricket squad.

The elder Scotland, who was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in December 2014, passed away in 2012.

Marcus is now receiving training from Alex Tudor, former English player, and other county coaches as he prepares for competition.

Marcus’ training through January has included Surrey District training, London Youth Games training, Clapham Leisure Centre Community Fun Cricket, and one-on-one training with Alex Tudor.

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] said they are “monitoring the cricketer’s academic progress while he trains, with the latest school reports very good and consistent with the BCB’s aim to develop its young players on and off the field.”
