Video: Bermuda Golf Classic On Utah TV News
NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice was among a group of more than 30 NFL stars that came to the island earlier this month in order to take part in the Bermuda Golf Classic at Port Royal Golf Course, with Utah’s Fox 13 television station showcasing some footage of the island, as well as the golf action.
The event brings together current and retired NFL athletes for a 36-hole individual stroke play NFL golf championship, followed by a team tournament in which local players can “draft” NFL players as teammates in an 18-hole “best ball” tournament.
During the coverage, Mr. Rhineer exclaimed as an aerial view of Bermuda was shown, “How good does that look? That’s in Bermuda – the Port Royal Golf Course, the former home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and now the home of the second annual Bermuda Golf Classic NFL Invitational.”
Bill Hanbury showed up in full Americas Cup regalia ! I was on the nineteenth , enjoying a liquid libation after a very hard days work , you know and couldn’t believe that the big man at BTA would show up at an event of this magnitude out of dress …. I’m pretty sure that the organizers of the classic wasn’t happy , especially if there was a photo shoot .
Very disrespectful to say the least !
A great feather in Bermuda’s cap…
It’s a good sign if we got TV exposure, can’t complain about that. Could be worthwhile lobbying for some of the retired players who now work for ESPN or NFL Network to join in as well. Maybe they would then espouse on Bermuda’s beauty, et al., when they return to their day jobs.
Congrats to the BGA folks on putting on another well-received event.
