Duffy Ranked As Favorite To Win Olympic Medal
[Written by Don Burgess]
Bermuda’s Flora Duffy is one of the hot favorites to win the gold medal in women’s triathlon at the Rio Olympics, according to SportingBet.com.
Sporting Bet has Duffy at 20-1 odds to top the podium in Brazil and punters are loving it. So far the site is reporting that she has received the second equal most bets behind American Gwen Jorgensen who is an 8/11 favorite. She is receiving one out of every four bets placed.
The Bermudian star won the ITU World Triathlon Stockholm race last weekend and has had a blazing start to this year’s series.
Duffy was fourth in Abu Dhabi in March and has only gotten better as the year has progressed with a fourth at the Gold Coast event then reaching the bottom of the podium in Cape Town.
She had a big lead in Leeds before but had to settle for a silver after Jorgensen reeled her in.
Duffy is currently the top ranked female triathlete in the world.
Great achievement Flora.
On to the Olympics.
Flora is an incredible international athlete and a credit to Bermuda. I wish her every success in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Go Flora – YOU ROCK BERMUDA!
