Shooting: BPS Confirm Death Of 30-Year-Old Man

Update 10.46pm: Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines said, “Police can confirm that gunshots were fired in the area of Court and Elliot Street. It appears two men were shot”. Mr Caines said he will provide further information as able.
Update 11.03pm: Unofficial reports indicate multiple shots were fired. Police remain on scene investigating and the area is cordoned off. We expect to receive a full police statement later tonight and will update as able.

Update 11.45pm: Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines confirmed that a 30-year-old man has died, while a 55-year-old man is “being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”
Mr Caines said, “A few minutes after 10:00pm, police responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of Court Street. Upon police arrival, it was ascertained that two men on a motorcycle discharged a firearm in the area of Court and Elliot Street. As a result, two men were shot.
“Both men were taken to the hospital by ambulance and a 30-year-old man died as a result of his injuries. A 55-year-old man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
“The area has been cordoned off while the scene is being processed by the relevant police officers and a full investigation into the incident is now underway.
“Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information regarding the shooting. Specifically, anyone who may have seen two males on a motorcycle acting suspiciously in the Court Street, Parsons Road, Deep Dale, areas [Central Pembroke] are asked to contact the Serious Crime Unit at 295-0011 or the Confidential Crimestoppers Hotline at 800-8477.
