Tennis: Mallory Wins Singles & Doubles Openers
Bermuda’s Trey Mallory began competing in the Coca-Cola/ITF Junior Tennis Tournament in St Lucia.
Mallory, playing in the Under 18 Boy’s Singles and Doubles, won his first two matches in each division.
In the Doubles Mallory teamed up with Philippe Mercelina from the Netherlands and they defeated Barbados pair Kyle Griffith and Stephen Slocombe in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Mallory and Mercelina then defeated Aryan Gupta from St. Lucia and David Polo from Italy in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Mallory would win his opening Singles match in straight sest 6-4, 6-4 over Romani Mayers from Barbados, he would then defeat Andy Hernandez from the USA in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, in his second round match.
