Jessica Lewis Wins Gold In 200M In Switzerland
Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis competed in the Daniela Jutzeler Memorial 2019 International IPC Track Meet in Switzerland, winning a gold medal on the event’s opening day.
Lewis raced to victory in the T53 Women’s 200 meter race, clocking a time of 31.96. Kelsey Lefevour of the United States was second with a time of 32.04, while Yen Hoang, also from the United States, was third with a time of 32.51.
Lewis finished fourth in the T53 Women’s 100 meter race in a time of 17.33 Angela Ballard of Australia notched a winning time of 16.50, Samantha Kinghorn of Great Britain was second at 16.91, and Kelsey Lefevour of the United States third at 17.18.
The Bermudian sprinter concluded by competing in the T53 Women’s 400 meter race, crossing the line in eighth position after stopping the clock at 1:01.11. Ballard from Australia achieved the winning time of 54.50, while Chelsea McClammer of the United States was second in 55.28 and Kinghorn of Great Britain was third in 55.64.
