Tennis: Bermuda Fall In Davis Cup Opener
Eleven nations including Bermuda began competing in the Davis Cup Americas Group III event in San Jose, Costa Rica, as they seek to win promotion to Group II for 2020.
Bermuda took on Honduras in their opener and went down 2 – 1.
Manders went down in the number One Spot to Keny Turcios in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, then Towlson went down in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to Jaime Bendeck.
Manders and Towlson then teamed up in the Doubles and the pair defeated Turcios and Alejandro Obando Maldonado in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
