2010 Bacardi Cup: Peter Bromby 17th Overall
Bermuda’s Peter Bromby placed 17th overall in the 2010 Bacardi Cup after competing against 83 other Star-class sailors in Biscayne Bay, Miami.
The elite sailing event ran from March 8 – March 13 and consisted of five days of racing, with points tallied throughout to determine the eventual winner. There were six scheduled days of races, however Day 5 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Americans Rick Merriman and Phil Trinter won the 2010 Bacardi Cup, with a total score of nine points over five races.
Peter O’Leary and Stephen Milne from Ireland placed second, with Vermont residents Andy Horton and James Lyne in third place.

Mr. Bromby and crew Magnus Liledahl were the 2009 Bacardi Cup Champions.
Mr. Bromby holds the Bermudian record of four Olympic appearances, and is the island’s second highest placing Olympian in history after bronze medalist Clarence Hill. The veteran sailor has won a number of sailing races both locally and overseas over his competitive career.
