Bermudian Footballer Killed in Dominican Republic

VSB news is reporting that a Bermudian has been killed in the Dominican Republic. 35 year old footballer Richard “Ricky” Tucker was shot at a birthday party in Santo Domingo on Sat March 27th and subsequently died of his injuries.

Mr Tucker played as a goalkeeper for the Ireland Rangers football team locally, and had previously played for Dandy Town, Somerset Eagles and Somerset Cricket Club. The Sandys resident was a graduate of Sandys Secondary and worked at Snorkel Park for a decade.

As of yet this has not been confirmed by the Bermuda Police, however his family has confirmed this tragic news. Mr Tucker and his wife Mandisa were parents of three children.

Located on the island of Hispaniola along with Haiti, the Dominican Republic has a population of around 10 million. A Facebook group has been launched “RIP Ricky Tucker” and has quickly grown to over 400 members.
