17 Yr Old Stabbing Victim Airlifted to USA

After his condition worsened yesterday, the 17 year old Sandys parish man who was stabbed multiple times on Saturday was air-lifted overseas to Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, Maryland USA for further medical treatment.

The victim had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body, and was taken to Port Royal Fire Station by a member of the public where he was treated by EMTs before being rushed to KEMH via ambulance.

He was listed as stable in the intensive care unit of the local hospital prior to be flown overseas.Bernews understands he was stabbed around 7 times, and may have undergone surgery immediately following the attack.

He received very serious injuries during the assault which occurred around 12 noon on Saturday April 17th on Middle Road in Southampton in the vicinity of the bus stop opposite Traditions Restaurant. He is an employee of a business in the area, and we understand was on his lunchbreak when the incident occurred.

Police originally arrested a 17 yr old St Georges man, who has since been released on Police bail. The police went on to say another man may have been involved in the incident, and that more individuals may have been present. The police have not confirmed if the incident was gang related, but a social network profile belonging to one of the teens involved alluded to a gang connection.

    All the violence is going to scare tourist, expats etc. away. It is going to have a large and negative trickle down affect and we are ALL going to feel it.
