Cayman Bound: Bermuda Rugby Teams

April 29, 2010

The Bermuda National Rugby teams leave the island at 4pm today, embarking on a tour to compete against the Cayman Islands.

The Senior match is recognized by the International Rugby Board as a full International match, with caps being awarded to the players. The Cayman V Bermuda match is scheduled for 4:30 pm on Sunday May 2.

The local rugby association have named a strong senior squad to travel, saying it will be a tough match against a quality opponent. The game will count towards Bermuda’s IRB World Ranking status [currently 57th out of 95 ranked countries]

Also traveling are the representative sides at U/10, U/12, U/14 and U/16 age levels. The only age group not traveling is the U/19 team who are training and gearing up for the U/19 Caribbean Championships in August.
