Sailing Race Week: Etchells & J24 Class Round Up

[written by Talbot Wilson] A close finish is shaping up for the Etchells Class which has only one more race in the series. Thursday [April 29] Tim Patton had a top flight performance taking two bullets. He now has 12 points, one ahead of fellow Bermudian Martin Vezina. Patton is the current Keelboat Bermuda National Champion.

In the J24 Class, Scott Snyder from Denver, Colorado continues to hold the lead he grabbed on the first day. Going into Thursday racing he had five first place finishes. Thursday he finished 2,4,3 so his total is 10 points. Peter Rich follows with 17 and Sean McDermott stands third with 22 points.

Racing starts at 11:00am today [Friday, April 30] for the Alpha course J24, Etchells and IOD Classes. The Prize Giving Party at RBYC concludes Race Week on Friday.

All classes with an active local racing program in Bermuda may invite international sailors to participate in the 2010 Bermuda International Invitational Race Week. International participation is required for a fleet to compete.
