Bermudian singer Twanée Butterfield’s rendition of Etta James “At Last” has won her a spot to perform at the Interscope Records Showcase this coming Saturday April 3rd.
Interscope is one of the most prestigious record labels, with a roster including some of biggest the music stars such as the Black Eyed Peas, Blink-182, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Timbaland, U2 and many more. The auditions to win a spot to have a sit down with Interscope Records were held yesterday [Mar 31] in Brooklyn, New York. Ms Butterfield says it was mostly a hip-hop crowd with lots of rappers, so she didn’t know how the crowd or judges would react when she got up to sing Etta James “At Last”, but the judges were clearly impressed enough to award her one of the coveted spots.
Following her performance, “Slim” a representative of rap powerhouse group G-Unit approached Ms Butterfield and stated how impressed he was with her performance, collecting her contact information and “Where I’ve Been” CD in the process.
The talented singer has been performing publicly from the age of seven, and recently released the album ‘Where I’ve Been’ which is available for purchase at various local outlets including Music World, Music Box, Sound Stage, and Dub City.
