Photos & Video: Big Bikes Cruise Into Bermuda
Massive $25,000 motorbikes with 1,600cc engines, satellite radios, TVs, and airbags aren’t exactly common in Bermuda – except for today – when dozens on them could be seen on Bermuda’s roads.
They arrived in Bermuda aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas at around 8am this morning [May 1], toured Bermuda, and arrived back in Dockyard in time to make the ship’s departure at 5pm. The stopped for lunch at Gombeys Restaurant at Clearwater Beach, where we caught up with the group.
The group is part of the ETA Motorcycle Cruising Club, which offers cruises all through the Caribbean for motorcycle enthusiasts. The international bikers were joined by dozens of members of the Bermuda Longriders motorcycle club.
The bike below was attracting tons of attention due to its flashy appearance. The owner [pictured with the bike] said the model costs $22,000 without all the additional things he has added. Roy is from Maryland and has been to Bermuda before, but not as part of the bike cruising group:

The bike below is one of the newest models of a Honda Goldwing which is outfitted with a television, satellite radio, airbag and an motorized reverse system. These bikes start at about $23,000 for the cheapest model:

The big bikes were joined by a much smaller bike, with a very enthusiastic rider. 5 yr old Christian, an East End Primary student, patiently waited for the bikes to arrive on top of his own. He was joined by his 18 month old cohort Isryeal:

Bikers came from New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. The group had received special permission to exceed the local engine limits of 150cc, prior explanations of Bermuda’s road regulations from the local Longriders and were escorted around Bermuda by three Police bikes.
