Man Strikes Parked Car, Fails Breathalyzer

A 21 year old man who struck a parked car and drove away ended up being pursued by the Police and detained after he failed the breathalyzer test.

The accident ocurred around 2:15am on Saturday July 3rd, on Crow Lane in Pembroke near the junction with Lane Hill. The Police say that it appears that the car was traveling west on Crow Lane when the driver lost control and collided with a parked car, stopping briefly before driving away. Officers pursued the car and subsequently located it on White Sands Road in Paget.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car being driven received extensive front end damage while the unoccupied parked car received extensive rear end damage. The car driver, a 21 year old Pembroke man, was not injured.

Later that day, another incident occurred in which a driver struck a parked car. At 4:45pm on Saturday a 61 year old Pembroke woman lost control and collided with a parked car on Reid Street. The parked car then collided with a tree
